It is considered that the foundation of water transport in Mongolia was established in 1910, when merchants of the Russian Empire built a steamship named “Mongol”, with a capacity of 40 tons and 75 horsepower, and began operating transport services on Lake Khövsgöl.
Khövsgöl Waterway Company is located on the shores of the magnificent Lake Khövsgöl—often referred to by tourists as the “Dark Blue Pearl” of Mongolia.
We provide comfortable and memorable journeys aboard Mongolia’s largest vessel, the Sukhbaatar ship, which features a four-deck structure, accommodates up to 240 passengers, and is designed for stability in wind and waves. In addition to cruise services, we offer meals, refreshments, and retail services, delivered by a team with over 50 years of experience in water transport and tourism.
