To ensure the implementation of the Law on Disaster Protection and the “Regulation on Conducting Disaster Risk Assessment” approved by Government Resolution No. 190 (2020), the National Emergency Management Agency’s National Institute for Disaster Research organized a “Disaster Risk Assessment Certification Training” from the 1st to the 14th of this month. Certificates were awarded to the participants upon completion.
As part of the training, a total of 19 instructors—including 14 professors, associate professors, and PhD holders, as well as 5 master’s degree holders—delivered 70 hours of classroom instruction covering various types of disasters and provided participants with comprehensive knowledge on conducting disaster risk assessments.
A total of 45 participants, including individuals and representatives from business entities, attended the training. To reinforce their theoretical knowledge, participants completed practical fieldwork at the site of “Safe Track” LLC, where they conducted risk assessments across eight types of disasters and presented their findings.
In her remarks, Deputy Head of the National Emergency Management Agency, Colonel Ts. Uranchimeg, emphasized that climate change, human-induced activities, and natural hazards are increasing globally. She highlighted the importance of assessing and preventing risks to reduce potential threats. She also expressed confidence that the participants, now certified in this field, will carry out their duties with professionalism, strong ethics, and a high sense of responsibility.
